The amount of sales of ICARUS on Steam in the month since its release is about $31 million

A new project from developer RocketWerkz - ICARUS was purchased by nearly 1.5 million Steam players during its first month of release, according to GameSensor’s estimation. Combined with that number of copies sold, ICARUS has reached about $31 million in sales on the platform in the same month.

The game's rating on Steam is just over 3 stars out of 5. The novelty has received predominantly negative reviews on the aggregator website Metacritic as well; the players gave it 4.5 points out of 10. As stated, the reasons for this assessment were unclear design, poor optimization, and missions that were too long. Critics at the same website gave the novelty 67 points out of a possible 100.

RocketWerkz Studios, in addition to developing the game, has taken on the duties of the publisher. ICARUS is the fourth project of the studio and the first release in the last 12 months.

If you look at the overall statistics, estimated by GameSensor, ICARUS sales account for about 90 percent of the total sales of all the developer's games. What's interesting, however, is that the ratings for all other RocketWerkz games on Steam are, on average, 1 star higher than ICARUS.

The vast majority of players who buy the new game on Steam speak English - 68%. About 10% of the audience communicates in German. The game also supports Chinese, French, Korean, and other languages.
